Candidates Who Are Still ASN Status Are Given Until October 3 To Resign

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province warned that prospective legislative members of the 2024 General Election in the area who are state civil servants (ASN) should immediately resign from their jobs.

"Today we are discussing the work of balaleg who are obliged to resign from such as ASN, village officials, heads of RT, heads of RW and others whose source of salary comes from the APBD or APBN," said the Coordinator of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the Rejang Lebong KPU Election, Eiis Purwanti, Antara, Sunday, October 1.

He explained that the provisions for Babileg to resign or quit his job were conveyed by his party in the coordination meeting of the dcT draft which was held today, where this provision is regulated by PKPU Number 10 of 2023 concerning the candidacy of members of the DPR RI, Provincial DPRD, Regency/City DPRD.

The legislative candidate who was declared to have resigned, he said, was given a deadline until October 3, 2023, and based on a letter from the Indonesian KPU dated September 25, 2023, he was given one month after being appointed as a list of permanent candidates (DCT) on November 3.

"So it is still given one month, namely until December 3, 2023, if until that date the decree has not been issued, the name of the person concerned will be crossed out from the candidacy," he explained.

So far, of the 362 baulaleg who are included in the list of temporary candidates (DCS) at KPU Rejang Lebong, he added, there is already one person who is known to be still an ASN, while for baulaleg who has the status of a village apparatus, members of the TNI/Polri, other BUMN work that is paid from the APBD/APBN has not yet been reported.

"The police officer who proposed the legislative review earlier stated that he would immediately submit a letter of resignation from the status of ASN, we have also sent a letter to the Rejang Lebong Regency Government in order to speed it up," he said.

Meanwhile, the election stages in the area, said Eiis, have been included in the DCT funeral which will be held from September 24 to October 3. Furthermore, the stage of preparation and determination of DCT starts from October 4 to November 3, the last November 4 is the DCT announcement.
