JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Village Government Apparatus Association (Papdesi) awarded a white green Manchester United club away jersey to presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo.

Jersey was handed over directly to the General Chairperson of the Papdesi Central Management Board, Wargiyati to Ganjar at the 2023 Papdesi National Working Meeting at Smesco Nareswara Ballroom, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 26.

The Manchester United away jersey for the 2023/2024 season was given the number eight jersey under the name Ganjar. On that occasion, Wargiyati said, the number refers to the 2024 presidential election which will elect the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We hope that Pak Ganjar will become the eighth president of Indonesia," he said.

Not without reason Papdesi supports Ganjar Pranowo. The former governor of Central Java for two terms was the chairman of the Papdes Board of Trustees who was founded in 2016. He said that the village head and village officials had entrusted Ganjar's aspirations since he first served as governor.

"At that time he was still the Governor of Central Java, we went to him every day and he didn't get bored," he continued.

The decision, said Wargiyati, was because Papdesi believed Siti Atikoh's husband was able to oversee all struggles for both the village government and rural communities in general.

"So that in the future the village can be more prosperous, independent and dignified. We want the government to immediately ratify the revision of Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning villages," he added.

Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo said that the government must give full confidence to village heads to manage their villages. That is, so that the innovation that has occurred can continue to roll.

"Give the village head confidence. Villages need a way, villages are part of the asymmetric government. The authenticity of the village is very different," he explained.

The former DPR RI also added that it is time for the village of gas pol to be under construction. Existing resources, governance, regulations to become capital in the future.

"Just push it, the term is gas pol. But I entrust it to prosper the village and its citizens. And, don't corrupt," he said.
