105 Fire Cases Occurred In Pekanbaru During 2023, DPKP Urges To Use SNI Standard Electricity Equipment

RIAU - Pekanbaru City Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) recorded as many as 105 fires that have occurred since 2023. The fire devoured buildings, land and vehicles.

"There were 105 fires that occurred from January 2023 to September 2023. There were buildings, houses, land, and burning vehicles," said Head of Pekanbaru City DPKP, Burhan Gurning, Tuesday, September 26, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the most fires occur in buildings. This is usually caused by an electrical short circuit or short circuit.

Therefore, he appealed to the public to always pay attention to electrical equipment in their homes, offices or shops. If there is equipment that has been damaged, it must be replaced immediately and ensured that it meets standard usage.

"Use safe and SNI standard electrical equipment and check to ensure the equipment is not damaged when used, causing a short circuit," he said.

Due to the fire, the Pekanbaru City Social Service has distributed aid to 49 heads of families of fire victims. Aid distributed to fire victims spread over 27 locations.

"The Social Service has distributed assistance to our brothers who were hit by a fire, namely 49 heads of families with a total of 128 people. This is spread across 27 locations. This assistance is to ease the burden on our brothers who were hit by the disaster," said the Head of the Pekanbaru Social Service, Idrus.

The aid distributed was in the form of nine basic commodities, prayer equipment and others. Among them were handed over to a resident in Tuah Madani District, Senapelan and on Durian Street.

"This follows up on the instructions of the Pekanbaru Mayor, Muflihun, so that all officials within the Pekanbaru City Government are present in the midst of the community, especially the people who were hit by the disaster," said Idrus.
