Kaesang Becomes Chairman Of PSI, Giring Ganesha Jabat Member Of The Board Of Trustees

JAKARTA - Giring Ganesha has officially resigned his position as General Chair of PSI since 2021 and has been replaced by Kaesang Pangarep. Now, Giring still holds an important position in the party structure.

Giring is now appointed a member of the PSI Board of Trustees. This was revealed by PSI Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Grace Natalie at the PSI National Land Coffee (Kopdarnas) event.

"The appointment of Bro Giring Ganesha as a member of the PSI DPP Board of Trustees for his services and dedication to PSI. This decree is valid from the date of stipulation, and ends according to PSI's AD/ART rules," said Grace at Djakarta Theater, Monday, September 25.

In addition, the party bearing the symbol of rose also appointed Acting Secretary General of PSI Isyana Bagus Oka to be a member of the PSI Board of Trustees.

Then, the position of Secretary General (Secretary General) of PSI is now again filled by King Juli Antoni. The King of July previously also served as Secretary General of PSI before becoming Secretary of the PSI Board of Trustees.

In this event, the appointment of Kaesang as chairman of PSI was officially carried out. Before the name Kaesang was announced, PSI cadres had called for the name of the youngest son of President Joko Widodo. Until finally, the reading of the PSI Board of Trustees' decree revealed the name of Kaesang.

"The appointment of Kaesang Pangarep as General Chair of the Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian Solidarity Party for the period 2023-2028," said Grace.

After being announced, Kaesang entered the room with a happy smile. He immediately went up on stage wearing a white, blue and red plaid shirt. This shirt is similar to Jokowi's typical clothes while campaigning in the DKI Pilkada.

After being officially announced, Grace handed over the decree to Kaesang. Not to forget, Kaesang also brought his wife, Erina Gudono, up on stage.

Kaesang joined PSI marked by handing over party membership cards (KTA) to Kaesang by PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha, in front of President Jokowi's private residence on Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Solo City, Central Java, on Saturday, September 23.

Giring Ganesha, PSI General Chair before Kaesang took office, admitted that it was him who asked Kaesang to replace him. This has also been conveyed to the PSI Board of Trustees.

"Today I will chair the Plenary Meeting of Kopdarnas to immediately ask the Board of Trustees to ratify Mas Kaesang as chairman," Giring said in his statement.

Giring claimed to have communicated with Kaesang for a long time. Before finally Kaesang joined PSI, Giring said that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) youngest son was very worthy of holding the position of chairman.

"Since my video came out some time ago, I have said, 'It's time to return this party to its real owner'. At that time I had submitted a recommendation to the party, that the young man was Mas Kaesang Pangarep. So there was no sudden or impromptu succession at PSI. Everything is in accordance with the organizational mechanism," said Giring.
