Jokowi Says Mentawir'semaian Is Almost 100 Percent Complete, Its Seeds Can Be Used To Green IKN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the construction of the Minister of Tourism in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) was almost 100 percent. The results are ready to be used to green the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

"This is a nurse that we are preparing to green the capital city of the archipelago plus its surroundings. We have not yet entered before. Now it's almost 100 percent finished, just tidy up," said Jokowi while reviewing the nurseries of the Minister of Tourism, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Thursday, September 21, confiscated by Antara.

Jokowi ensured that the seeds from the Mentawir Farmers were ready to be used to plant trees in IKN. The seeds from the Minister of Home Affairs are expected to return the forests around IKN so that the new and surrounding capital cities will return to tropical rainforests.

The planting location, said Jokowi, will be regulated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the IKN Authority (OIKN).

"This is now ready and complete, it remains only to be planted where the arrangements will be made by the Minister of Forestry, the Director General, the Authority, which will beautify the capital city and restore the forests around the archipelago to a tropical rain forest again, not a homogeneous forest," he said.

Jokowi emphasized that the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Culture showed the realization of the Indonesian Government's commitment to improve the environment.

"Essentially, we want to improve the environment, rehabilitate forests, forests damaged and damaged rainforests, and mangrove forests that we all need to rehabilitate," he said.

The nurseries of the Minister of Tourism, said Jokowi, can produce 15 million plant seeds that are ready for use.

"This is basic, if people want to plant they don't have a nursery, where can they come from? This shows our strong commitment that we really want to improve, we really want to rehabilitate (the environment)," he said.

Jokowi explained several plant seeds from Persemaian Mentawir, including tabebuya, a red shoot that can improve environmental aesthetics. Then, seeds for albasia, ulin, meranti, and others.
