Minister Of Manpower Optimistic Indonesian Citizens Internship Abroad Create Competent Workers

JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah believes that the trade program abroad, such as going to Japan, is able to create competent workers.

"I am sure that if this program continues to be developed in quantity and quality, it will provide great benefits for Indonesia and Japan," said the Minister of Manpower during the Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of Foreign Trade with the theme " Multi Stakeholders Collaboration to Create Competent Workers Through Qualityy Foreign Handling" in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 20, was confiscated by Antara.

Ida added that the government in principle supports the sustainability of apprenticeship cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.

He added that his ministry also supports all efforts to improve the quality of apprenticeship by paying attention to the principles of universally applicable apprenticeship.

"The enforcement must uphold the principles and basic rights in the world of work for apprentices," said the Minister of Manpower.

Ida Fauziyah hopes that the implementation of the apprenticeship coordination meeting must pay attention to aspects of equality, respect diversity, social inclusion, and be far from all kinds of discrimination, violence, harassment, and exploitation.

"Hopefully this coordination meeting will be able to become a moment of our evaluation together to continue to improve all shortcomings in the implementation of apprenticeship to Japan," he said.

On that occasion, Plt. Director General of Vocational and Productive Training Development (Binalavotas), Ministry of Manpower, Anwar Sanusi said that for the last three decades, Indonesia has collaborated with Japan to improve the competence of the workforce through the apprenticeship program.

This apprenticeship program, he added, has provided great benefits for the apprentices, in addition to improving skills, they also gained life experience and valuable cultural understanding.

"Collaborative efforts between the government, training institutions, and various stakeholders ensure that apprenticeship in Japan provides maximum benefits for apprentices," said Anwar Sanusi who is also the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower.

The coordination meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, and the Special Staff of the Minister of Manpower, Caswiyono Rusydie Cakrawangsa.
