After Being Inaugurated, The Regent Of Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan Prioritizes Clean Water Assistance To People Affected By Drought

KALSEL - Acting (Pj) Tanah Laut Regent, Syamsir Rahman has mapped his area, which for the past few months has experienced drought due to the long dry season. The main focus of handling is still on preparing clean water to be distributed.

"The priority later is how to prepare clean water, especially in areas such as Takisung, Panyipatan, and Kurau," said Syamsir after being inaugurated by the Governor of South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Sahbirin Noor in Banjarbaru, Wednesday, September 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

For Syamsir, responding to drought conditions no longer has to start from adaptation, but the Tanah Laut Regency Government must handle it sustainably.

"I can't run alone. That's why I was assisted by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Tanah Laut," he added.

In the near future, Syamsir also revealed that he would soon meet with all leaders of the Regional Apparatus Work Unit (SKPD), including elements of the local Forkopimda.

"Tomorrow we will hold a meeting at the coffee morning event," said Syamsir Rahman.

He admitted that he had prepared various steps in the first 30 days since serving as Acting Regent of Tanah Laut, including giving directions to SKPD.

Currently drought is a big problem in various regions, including Tanah Laut Regency. Moreover, Tanah Laut was also hit by forest and land fires (Karhutla) and the threat of crop failure due to drought.
