Democrats Participate In Coalition On Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate: But If Mas AHY Is Asked, Yes, He Is Ready

JAKARTA - Head of the Development Agency for the Cadreization and Membership Organization (BPOKK) of the Democratic Party, Herman Khaeron, said that his party would follow suit regarding the determination of the prospective vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

"If the coalition already has or has determined the vice presidential candidate, yes of course we will just follow, but if then Mas AHY (Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono) is asked to become a vice presidential candidate, we are ready," Herman said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 19.

Because, he said, the position of the Democratic Party that had just joined KIM was different from the position when it was in the Coalition for Amendments to Unity (KPP) to carry the candidate for presidential candidate Anies Baswedan.

"I don't think the opportunity is like an opportunity in the previous coalition, because there is a historic journey, there is a journey together to fight. If this goes to the house or to the coalition that has been built," he said.

Herman said that the Democrat Party currently depends on political parties (political parties) that are members of other KIMs, and follow the coalition agreement that has been formed in advance.

"We leave it to the coalition.ionally, of course, we will follow the coalition agreement that has been built, and what has been conveyed to the general chairman," he said.

Previously, the Democratic Party officially expressed its support for the presidential candidate from KIM Prabowo Subianto to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) accompanied by the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), expressed his support directly to the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Sunday (17/9).

The Democratic Party's official declaration of support for Prabowo will be delivered directly by AHY in front of the cadres during the Democratic Party's National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) on Thursday (21/9).
