Pertamina Participates In Researching The Content Of Polluted Well Water In Kediri

KEDIRI - Pertamina Patra Niaga responded quickly to allegations of contamination of residents' well water in RT 05 RW 02 Tempurejo Village, Pesantren District, Kediri City, by going down directly and checking it.

"Previously, we had tested the well with the DLHK Kediri City, but the results were zero oil contamination, so we asked for the residents' approval for a thorough research of the Ibu Sulastri well and witnessed by all residents," said Section Head Communication Relations Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus Taufiq Kurniawan, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 11.

He said, during the testing process, Pertamina also acted by emptying the Tempurejo gas station tank, Kediri City. Residents who have been used to buying at Tempurejo gas stations are also advised to buy fuel at other gas stations.

"During the testing process, parallels will also be emptying the Tempurejo gas station tank, so we apologize to all residents who want to fill up their fuel, they can fill it at other nearby gas stations," he said.

He also added that the video that had gone viral at the Sulastri well on Saturday (9/9) was a new thing, so a thorough study was needed.

Pertamina has previously provided clean water assistance for daily consumption of residents since the report. However, the assistance was emphasized as a form of humanity from Pertamina to help residents and not due to pollution.

His party also emphasized that they could not confirm the origin of the pollution. Currently, all of them are in a neutral position. If after testing which also involves third parties the results come out, then the cause can be known. If it turns out that the cause of the gas station is found, it will be done what is best for residents, but if it is also expected from other parties to be trusted to be held accountable.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission C of the Kediri City DPRD, Ashari, expressed his appreciation for Pertamina's steps that residents had been waiting for.

"Today, at the will of the residents, further testing is carried out specifically for the Ibu Sulastri well and the water assistance will be continued by Pertamina in stages. The focus is on Mrs. Sulastri first. Indeed, residents were initially a little scared, for fear of eliminating evidence, but after being convinced by Pertamina that this is for testing purposes and guaranteed security, we convince the residents," said Ashari.

A total of 14 residents' wells in Tempurejo Village, Pesantren District, Kediri City, are suspected of being polluted so that for daily needs residents use water sent from the city government. There is one well that is in quite severe condition, namely at Sulastri's house. The water in the well is mixed with oil, it can even turn on if the fire ignites.
