JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) initiated a village program ready to be alert and a peaceful school in order to protect the public from radicalism.

Head of BNPT Komjen Rycko Amelza Dahniel said the village is ready to be a program aimed at creating a tolerant village capable of preventing the entry of radicalism, extremism, and terrorism ideology.

Rycko said the village was ready to prioritize active collaboration with the public and all instruments.

"Village officials and all their village communities," said the Head of BNPT as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.

He explained that there are three village criteria that will become peace agents and counter-terrorism. First, the village must be able to maintain religious moderation in its community.

Second, the village must be able to maintain harmony and harmonization between communities within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Third, said Rycko, is ready to ensure that they reject all practices of violence, radicalism and the like.

Meanwhile, peaceful schools are programs that aim to create a peaceful and tolerant school environment in diversity.

The program is the government's effort to prevent radicalism and terrorism among students, involving various parties, such as teachers, students, parents, and the surrounding community to collaborate.

"The construction of peaceful schools is in order to build school resilience that is tolerant, religious moderation and has resilience to the entry of radicalism, extremism and terrorism ideology," said Rycko.

BNPT has confirmed the pilot project of the village program ready to be on standby in Pelamunan Village, Serang Regency, Banten. According to BNPT, the people of Pelamunan Village have been categorized as responsive in preventing and preventing potential radicalism, and ready to face the threat of violent ideology.
