The Panel of Judges at the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Court sentenced Adi Sasmita to six years in prison, a defendant in corruption in the management of funds from the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) RSUD Praya, Central Lombok Regency, which acts as a project commitment-making official (PPK).

"The trial itself by imposing a sentence on the defendant Adi Sasmita with a prison sentence of six years and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to three months in prison," said Chief Justice of the NTB High Court, Mery Taat Anggarasih in an open trial that was broadcast live through the NTB High Court YouTube channel, Mataram, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 7.

The verdict of the panel of judges at the appeal level thus canceled the decision of the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court.

The panel, which consists of four member judges, determined such a verdict by stating that the defendant was found guilty of violating the first primary cumulative charge, the second cumulative charge, the second alternative and the third cumulative charge.

In the decision number: 9/PID.TPK/2023/PT MTR, it was also determined that the confiscated money as evidence in the case was confiscated for the state and taken into account to be compensation for state losses charged to the defendant.

Including evidence of the return of the defendant's loan to the BLUD worth Rp. 10 million, it is requested to be confiscated and auctioned off to be used as an additional payment for compensation for state losses.

As for the things that the judge considered, by seeing Adi Sasmita's role as PPK for the BLUD project at the Praya Hospital did not support the government's program in eradicating corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

In addition, the judge stated that as a result of the defendant's actions, the quality of Praya Hospital services decreased and the state losses emerged from this case.
