Alleged Corruption In Market Retribution In Ternate, Kejari Has Examined 10 Witnesses

The Ternate District Attorney (Kejari) is still investigating the alleged corruption case of market levies at the Ternate City Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag).

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Ternate Attorney General's Office, A. Syaiful Anwar, said that so far he had examined 10 witnesses to investigate the cases that occurred in 2022 to January 2023.

"For this case, it is in the investigation stage and 10 witnesses have been questioned," he said in Ternate, Thursday, August 31, as reported by Antara.

Syaiful added that the Ternate Kejari opened up the possibility of other witnesses being examined in cases that were estimated to cost the state Rp1,038 billion.

Furthermore, Syaiful said the Ternate Kejari also handled the corruption case of the COVID-19 vaccination fund for 2021-2022.

So far four people have been investigated in connection with the case. Those examined by the Director of Ternate City Hospital with the initials AS, the former Treasurer of expenditure initials F, the Head of Public Health with the initials HH and PPTK Officials.

Two officials were examined as witnesses while the other two were asked to clarify the Minutes of Investigation (BAP) in this case.

Syaiful said that the COVID-19 vaccination in Ternate City was budgeted for more than Rp. 22 billion. However, what was realized was only more than Rp. 15 billion. It is suspected that there is a potential state loss in its implementation.
