Until August 2023, The National Police Have Arrested 866 Online Gambling Suspects

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that they have arrested 866 online gambling suspects during 2022 to August 2023. The arrests were made at the Bareskrim level and the regional police ranks. "If the disclosure of the number of suspects, for 2022, we will secure the online gambling suspect 760 people with their respective roles," said the Director of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Adi Vivid quoted Thursday, August 31. "As for 2023 (August), 106 (suspects)," he continued. Eradication of online gambling will continue to be carried out massively. Although, some obstacles are certainly encountered during the investigation process. One of them, the perpetrators or online gambling managers often moved. Then, they make villas to luxury housing as places of action. "They always use unexpected places such as villas, then apartments and maybe now luxury houses. In a series of actions, most recently, Bareskrim Polri uncovered the headquarters of online gambling in the Sanur area, Denpasar, Bali, on August 18. From the disclosure, 31 people were arrested and named as suspects. It is said to be the headquarters of online gambling because dozens of suspects manage five online gambling sites, namely, Hotel Slot 88, Auto Cuan 88, Jaya Slot 28, Oscar 28, and Sierra 77.

From the interim examination, the 31 people are known to have different roles. Starting from administrators to leader telemarketing websites.
