Residents Had Been Intercepted, Police Arrested 3 Illegal Gold Miners In Nagan Raya Aceh

NAGAN RAYA - Unit II Team Subdit IV Tipidter Ditreskrimsus Polda Aceh, and the Nagan Raya Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested three suspected perpetrators of illegal gold miners in Pante Ara Village, Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency.

"We arrested the three perpetrators along with one heavy equipment brand Sany at the scene," said Director of Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

The illegal mining control team was led by Kanit II AKP Rivandi Permana, and assisted by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nagan Raya Police AKP Machfud.

The three residents who were arrested are currently still being questioned as witnesses with the initials IS (29 years) as operators, then IA (40 years), and mine owners with the initials SA (50 years).

Although they had experienced resistance from dozens of residents, the police managed to bring the heavy equipment out of the mining site.

During this arrest, the police also secured a number of evidences at the location including records of gold mines, one scale, one gold filter balance and one gold index.

The arrest was made after officers received information from the public regarding illegal gold mining activities in Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency.

He hopes that the community can help and provide information to the police, so that they can save the environment by controlling the illegal mine.

According to him, mining without a permit will have a negative impact on the environment and can be detrimental to the region itself.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Nagan Raya Police AKP Machfud said that in law enforcement carried out at the location, his party also did well, and was friendly.

"In this way, the people who carried out the ambush dispersed from the location of the illegal mining control," he said.
