Anies Baswedan Is Not Worried That Parliamentary Support Will Be Weak If Elected As President, Emphasizes Pro-People's Policy

DEPOK - Anies presidential candidate Rasyid Baswedan said he was not worried about weak parliamentary support if he was elected president in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

Anies Baswedan said this when responding to questions from UI students who asked how weak parliament support was and would make it difficult to take policies for a leader.

"The power of policy proposals is in the content. When policies are oriented towards the community, the government can communicate to the public and ask for public support because it is for the benefit of the community," said Anies Baswedan at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia (FISIP UI) Depok, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

Anies recounted when he served as Governor of DKI Jakarta. Only two parties from nine parties support him in the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD.

"What happened persuasi conveyed ideas, arguments were built, data was collected, and this is the power that the public interest is the largest," he said.

If the policy has no public interest and partisans, according to him, strong political muscles are needed to carry out the policy. The reason is, if you don't use political muscles, this policy can't work.

"If you don't have data, you don't have scientific, and you don't side with the community, it's difficult to walk," said Anies.

Currently, Anies Baswedan is supported by three political parties, namely PKS, the Democratic Party, and the NasDem Party to run in the 2024 presidential election.

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia (FISIP UI) held a national lecture for the three best sons of the Indonesian nation.

The three are Anies Rasyid Baswedan (Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017 period 2022), Prabowo Subianto (Minister of Defense), and Ganjar Pranowo (Governor of Central Java).

For the first time, FISIP UI presented Anies Rasyid Baswedan on Tuesday (29/8) from 08.00 to 11.30 WIB. Furthermore, Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto will determine the time.
