The Burning Of Al-Quran Protests Was Held In The Hague, The Dutch Asked The Dutch To Make A Law On Religious Protection

JAKARTA - Demonstrations against the Islamophobic incident in Europe took place on the Malieveld field, the City of The Hague, the Netherlands. Demonstrators called for strong protests against Al Quran incendiaries.

The crowd also carried banners with the words "The Quran gives light to guide us, the fire cannot burn the sun", or "I love the Quran".

While longmarching at the Danish Embassy and Sweden, the masses criticized the government for allowing acts of hatred against the Quran as they called for the phrase "Stop burning our books and scriptures," and "The Danish and Swedish governments are embarrassing!".

Several demonstrators were also seen reading the Quran verse in its long march.

A psychologist named Serdar Isik said attacks on the Quran in Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands hurt Muslims very much. According to him, destroying the Quran under police protection is an act of racism.

Isik scathingly criticized the Mayor of The Hague Jan van Zanen, who allowed blasphemy against the Quran. "It hurts us that racism and fascists are allowed to tarnish the values of more than one million Muslims in the Netherlands openly," Isik said, quoted from Antara.

He said demonstrators demanded that the Dutch Government prepare a law to emphasize the protection of religious peace and ensure that religious and non-religious groups and individuals can coexist.

Burns Of Al-Quran In Sweden, Denmark And The Netherlands

A Danish far-right politician and leader of the Stram Kurs Party, Rasmus Paludan, continued to provocation by burning the Al Quran in the cities of Malmo, Norkopin, Jonkoping and Stockholm in Sweden during the Easter holidays in 2022.

Paludan burned the holy book of Muslims in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on January 21 and in Copenhagen on January 27.

Edwin Wagensveld, leader of the Islamophobic organization, the European Patriotics movement Against Western Islamization (PEGIDA) in the Netherlands, tore the Quran in a one-person demonstration in The Hague on January 22 under police protection, and on February 13 in the city of Utrecht.

Muslim groups gathered at the location where a demonstration in Rotterdam would take place and hold a counter demonstration because PEGIDA demonstrations were not prohibited despite announcements that members of the group would burn the Al Quran.

Wagensveld, who was released that day after being detained, wanted to continue a similar action in The Hague the following day but the police detained him on the grounds of not complying with democratic rules.

On August 18, Wagensveld tore up the Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in The Hague.

In Stockholm, Salwan Momika burned the Quran under police protection in front of the Stockhol Mosque on June 28 which coincided with Eid al-Adha.

Momika then stepped on Iraq's Qur'an and flag in police protection in front of the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm on July 20 and took similar action on July 14 and 31 in front of the Swedish Parliament.

It didn't stop there, Momika again carried out her act of tarnishing the Quran in front of the Iranian Embassy in Stockholm under police protection

In addition to the three people, Bahrami Marjan, a woman from Iran, burned the Quran on Angbybadet beach, Stockholm on August 3 was under police protection.
