Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said the need for clean water in the future would be quite serious, especially when entering the dry season as it is today.
For this reason, he asked PT Tirta Utama, Central Java (Perseroda) to be able to make progressive policies and expand the coverage of clean water supply to the public.
"We want this not just a building for them to have an office but to make a really progressive policy. Especially in providing clean water sources to the community," said Ganjar after inaugurating the PT Tirta Utama Central Java (Perseroda) office in Banyumanik, Semarang City, Thursday 24 August.
Ganjar explained that currently there are many dry months so that the water needs are quite large. When the supply is not fulfilled, he is worried that the community will reduce the quality of getting clean water. Even though clean water is the most important need because it is related to the quality of life of the community.
"This is related to the quality of people's lives. If clean water is not obtained, don't expect that the quality of public health will also be good," explained Ganjar.
This concern arose because many government companies related to water were complained about. For example, whether the water often dies, whether the water is dirty, or the coverage for clean water needs is lacking.
Ganjar requested that PT Tirta Utama Central Java and PDAM be united. This cohesiveness is needed so that the supply or support of clean ar to the community is good and evenly distributed.
"So we ask Tirta Utama Central Java to be a pioneer. Communication with PDAM, where the coverage has not been fulfilled, what kind of emergency conditions," he explained.
