Police Hand Over The Case Of A Teenager Motorcycle Gang In Lhokseumawe To The Prosecutor

BANDA ACEH - Lhokseumawe City Police, Aceh Province handed over a stabbing case carried out by a motorcycle gang against a teenager in the area to the local state prosecutor.

Lhokseumawe Police Chief AKBP Henki Ismanto accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Ibrahim said that in this case there were five suspects, namely, MH (17), HC (16), DG (17), MW (17) and FA (14) who were residents of Lhokseumawe City.

"The delegation was also accompanied by the suspect's parents and the correction center," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

He explained that the delegation of the stabbing case by the five motorcycle gang suspects was complete with evidence, namely one sword, one Yamaha Gear motorcycle and one Honda Beat motorcycle.

The five suspects, he continued, were suspected of committing serious abuse on Jalan Medan - Banda Aceh, Meunasah Mee Village, Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe on Saturday (5/8) at around 23.00 WIB.

The suspects were arrested by the police for less than 24 hours by the Unit V Resmob Team of the Lhokseumawe Police Satreskrim.

"The suspects are a group of teenage motorcycle gangs who have been arrested several times for carrying sharp weapons and disturbing residents," he said.

Ibrahim said the victim in this case was a teenager with the initials RW (17), a resident of Lhokseumawe City. This incident began when the victim and his colleague were riding a motorcycle.

Arriving at the scene, the suspects grabbed the victim and one of the perpetrators hit the victim in the nose. However, because the victim did not want to stop, the perpetrator slashed the victim twice using a sickle and then the perpetrator fled.

"The victim suffered a laceration to the head so that the victim's family reported the incident to the police," he said.

The suspects were charged with Article 368 in conjunction with Article 354 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2012 concerning the juvenile criminal justice system with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
