Bogor Education Office Prepares PPDB Perwali Draft to Overcome Cheating

BOGOR - The Bogor City Education Office, West Java, is preparing a draft mayoral regulation (Perwali) regarding the implementation of new student admissions (PPBD) to address the potential for fraud next year and beyond.

"The draft has been made, we will report it to the guardian (Bima Arya) and we will hold a group discussion forum with experts and community members to finalize it in the near future," said Head of the Bogor City Education Office, Sujatmiko Baliarto, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

Sujatmiko explained that the PPDB Perwali draft to be issued by the Bogor City Government contains more detailed rules regarding the various student admission pathways.

These rules cover the poor student pathway, the academic and non-academic achievement pathway and finally zoning.

Perwali PPBD Bogor City is expected to become a model nationally. Therefore, the design is made with full study.

According to Sujatmiko, PPDB evaluation needs to be carried out in all pathways in order to give a sense of student composition with a good system.

The Education Office will discuss all of these points with related parties, such as the Social Service for conditions for poor students, the Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), the Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) for non-academic achievement pathways.

Then, the Department of Population and Civil Registry (Disdukcapil) for regulations regarding the transfer of family cards (KK) for prospective students in the current year, education experts, to representatives of parents.

"So the draft already exists, we will finalize it with various parties so that it really absorbs the solution going forward," he said.

The Bogor City Government, West Java formulated a Mayoral Regulation (Perwali) as a reference and applies as a condition for further admission of new students (PPDB), anticipating the repeat of the fraud problem that occurred in 2023.

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya previously conveyed this based on recommendations from the inspectorate. He will issue a special guardianship, so that PPDB for 2024 has already prepared steps to prevent manipulation and ensure that citizens who are entitled to get their rights.

Bima Arya explained that in the Perwali there will be several rules that will be added and modified, starting from the acceptance requirements to factual verification by the relevant agencies.

According to Bima Arya, the Population and Civil Registry Service (Disdukcapil) must prohibit any transfer of family card (KK) domiciles in the past year before PPBD takes place.

In the perwali also the Education Office is asked to evaluate the system that is well implemented, administrative verification by scanning a barcode from the applicant's administration, then factual verification in the field.

In addition, the Education Office must also form a special committee a year before PPBD takes place.
