Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Ali, answered the invitation from the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Said Abdullah to merge Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo in one force in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Ali emphasized that from the start Anies was nominated as a presidential candidate (candidate). Moreover, he said, his party knew itself to offer cooperation to PDIP.
"Anies Baswedan was nominated by the Change Coalition as a presidential candidate. God willing, he has met the nomination requirements as a presidential candidate," Ahmad Ali told reporters, Tuesday, August 22.
Ali stated that until now the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) filled with NasDem, Democrats and PKS is confident that Anies can run as a presidential candidate.
"Although, the survey results, like this, are stupid, in some political events in Indonesia, there are almost a lot of mistaken survey institutions," said Ali.
Ali emphasized that the presidential election is not a place to beat people. However, it resulted in ideas between leaders.
Ali also did not want to assume that Ganjar would become the vice presidential candidate for Anies. According to him, it is impossible because PDIP is the winning party that definitely wants to nominate the president.
In addition, said Ali, his party also knows himself when offering the position of vice president to PDIP. Because according to him, political cooperation must also be based on appropriateness.
"We did not open the offer because we know ourselves, we know that offering that cooperation must always be based on appropriateness, based on community interests, then proportional," said Ali.
Previously, PDIP DPP Chairman Said Abdullah invited Anies Baswedan to join Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. According to him, both of them are smart leaders of the same alma mater.
This was said by Said in response to the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey, where in the simulation of head to head presidential candidates, Ganjar was far superior to Anies. Ganjar obtained 60.1 percent electability and Anies 39.9 percent in the August 2023 period.
Initially, Said considered Anies not a competitor who could be underestimated. Because as a former governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies is included in the criteria for intelligent leadership candidates.
"For us, Anies Baswedan is not a competitor who should be underestimated. He and Ganjar are smart candidates for leader. Both are the same in one alma mater, the greatest campus in Indonesia, namely Gajah Mada University," Said told reporters, Monday, August 21.

Said then said that Anies could join Ganjar as a strength in the 2024 General Election. If the two join, according to him, the future national leadership will be even better.
"Especially if both of them can join forces, of course, it will be better for the future of our national leadership in the future, as well as young, intelligent, and energetic," he continued.
