Suspicious Objects In Bekasi Shop Terrace, Police: Not Bombs

BEKASI - The discovery of suspicious objects suspected of being bombs shocked residents of Wisma Asri Housing, Bekasi, West Java. The police confirmed that the object was not an explosive or a bomb. "Not a bomb," said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Kombes Dani Hamdani when contacted, Monday, August 21. From the results of the investigation by the Brimob and Jibom teams, the object in the form of a pipe found in front of one of the shops was just a power inhibitor. However, it is undeniable that at the beginning of the discovery the object was quite encouraging for the community. Because, it looks like a pipe bomb. "So it's a tool to inhibit power, it's like a pipe. So what was found at that location was like the cement was a cable," he said. For now, the pipe has been secured. The investigative team is also said to be investigating the owner of the object. "Secured, it is still being investigated who keeps it," said Dani.

The suspicious object was first found on the terrace of the Mulia Shop, Wisma Asri Housing, North Bekasi, Bekasi City, at around 07.00 WIB, Monday, August 21.
