Tangerang City KPU Sets 677 Candidates In The Temporary Candidate List, 86 Others TMS

TANGERANG - The General Election Commission for Tangerang City has determined 677 candidates for legislative members (bakal legislative candidates) of the Tangerang City DPRD in the Prospective List for the 2024 legislative elections, but 86 other candidates will be declared ineligible (TMS).

"We have determined those who are included in the Candidates List. Meanwhile, there are 677 candidates and 86 other candidates who will be TMS," said Commissioner for the Technical Division of the Tangerang City KPU Election Organizer, Rustana, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 19.

Rustana said that after the temporary list of candidates, the Tangerang City KPU would submit a list of candidates for the candidate in the mass media from August 19-23, 2023.

In addition, the Tangerang City KPU also opens a period of response from the public from August 19-28, 2023 regarding the list of names that have been set on the Temporary Candidates List.

"If there are people who want to report regarding the names of the candidates who have been stipulated in the Temporary Candidates List, then the KPU opens up space by making reports through forms in election info or coming directly to the KPU office," he said.

According to him, the response from the community is very important so that there are no obstacles in the future, such as diplomas or other documents.

"We also invite political parties to submit a list of candidates for the current candidate list to their constituents," he said.

Meanwhile, candidates who are categorized as TMS can still be replaced or equipped with documents until the deadline is November 3, 2023.

Not only that, political parties can also make changes to the candidate, serial number and determination of the electoral district to candidates who have met the requirements. "For the process, all of them must have a letter from the DPP political party," he said.
