Reprimanded By The Ministry Of Health, Adam Malik Hospital Medan Forms A Team To Prevent Bullying

The Central General Hospital (RSUP) Haji Adam Malik Medan North Sumatra formed a team to prevent and handle bullying in the medical education process, after the hospital received a written warning from the Ministry of Health regarding cases of bullying.

"We have formed a team to prevent and handle bullying by providing an online complaint system for bullying, and imposing sanctions on perpetrators," said Director of Human Resources, Education and General Affairs of Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Ginting, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 18.

Regarding the sanctions given by the Ministry of Health, he considered it a form of evaluation and coaching to increase efforts to prevent bullying in hospitals.

"According to the direction from the Ministry of Health, management will immediately follow up by giving a warning to every party in the hospital environment related to this problem, and ensuring cases like this will not happen again in the future," said Jintang.

According to him, his party has made efforts to socialize and educate to prevent and eliminate bullying practices that can occur during the education process.

"The bullying has become a serious concern for us, both in medical education and other health education. Therefore, we deeply regret the practice of bullying among fellow medical students in the hospital environment," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Health sanctioned three government-owned hospital leaders for their negligence in the practice of bullying students.

"The majority of reports from bullying are related to requests for costs outside of education, services and research, as well as guard duties beyond reasonable limits," said Inspector General of the Ministry of Health Murti Utami in Jakarta, Thursday (17/8).

The search by the inspectorate found several cases with complete evidence that were used as the basis by the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, as the agency that oversees the hospital.

Murti said a written warning was given to the President Director of RSUPN Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo in Jakarta, the Mangunkusumo Director of Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, and the Managing Director of Haji Adam Malik Hospital in Medan.
