Police Move Prisoners Rampage At The Galatarang Bulukumba Police

The Gantarang Sector Police, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi, finally transferred the prisoner with the initials RS to the Bulukumba Police Station for recklessly burning tripleks and damaging the tackle of the detention room, allegedly due to stress.

"We return him (RS) to the (restriction) of the Bulukumba Police because he is indeed a prisoner entrusted to the Sector Police," said Head of the Gantarang Police, Kompol Edy Marheno, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 18.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when local police personnel were exercising, the person concerned burned the triplex which was part of the bed. In addition, he also damaged the facilities in his detention room.

Edy said the hospital was a prisoner of the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Bulukumba Police for allegedly being involved in a forced case.

"He burned the triplex on which his bed was based and damaged the toilet door, toilet and ceramics in the detention room," said the police chief.

Despite burning the triplex and causing smoke, the personnel swiftly extinguished the fire so as not to spread to other rooms. Meanwhile, for other prisoners, he said, they had been transferred to a safe place.

Police are still investigating and do not yet know what the motive for the hospital was to go berserk and burn the triplex in his detention room. The incident was caught on video and went viral on social media and saw his prison cell scattered and the blackening floor due to the impact of the fire.

Separately, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bulukumba Police, Inspector One (Iptu) Abustam, confirmed the burning incident of the Gantang Police detention room. However, it has not detailed the chronology of the incident.

"Earlier the fire was not big, but for more details, it could be asked to the Head of the Tahti (Restrictions and Evidence) of the Bulukumba Police," he said briefly.
