Observer Calls Three Winning Requirements For Prabowo Subianto

Political expert at Airlangga University (UNAIR) Surabaya Fahrul Muzaqqi assessed that the discussion about the candidate for vice president who will accompany Prabowo Subianto will be complicated. According to him, each party that has stated its support for the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party running for the 2024 presidential election will propose a name.

Fahrul said, there are several things that can be considered by Gerindra and Prabowo to choose the vice presidential candidate. First, Prabowo's vice presidential candidate must later be tested and experienced in the government in making policies. Second, the figure of Vice President Prabowo must also be able to give a jack to win the 2024 presidential election.

According to Fahrul, with the three major parties supporting him, Prabowo could find it easier to get a candidate for vice president to increase his chances of winning the presidential election.

This means that there are third conditions that must be met for Prabowo's vice presidential candidate, namely the supporting political party with a solid mass base.

This political science lecturer predicts that from these three criteria, Prabowo will have a greater chance of winning if he cooperates with the vice presidential candidate from the Golkar Party.

"Golkar is the party with the highest number of seats and has the engine that has been tested for each election in Indonesia. The opportunity to win for Prabowo is wide open," said Fahrul Muzaqqi in a statement, Thursday, August 17.

He added that the vice presidential candidate from Golkar would also be more acceptable to all supporting political parties. This is because Golkar is the only party that has been full of fighting in the election. In fact, Prabowo Subianto was also born from a party bearing the banyan tree.

Fahrul assessed that if Prabowo chose the vice presidential candidate from other than Golkar, there would be potential grassroots and regional administrators not to be compact or half-hearted in winning the candidate pair he promoted.

"The grass wheel, regional administrators, has the potential to be uncompact in providing support to Prabowo Subianto if the presidential candidate's assistant is not from Golkar cadres. The psychological burden of cadres will be weak in providing support if it is not from the Golkar element," said Fahrul.

According to him, Prabowo and Gerindra must think about it if they want to win the 2024 presidential election. This is because Prabowo certainly does not want to lose again after three defeats in the presidential election contestation in Indonesia.
