Polda Metro Jaya implemented a traffic diversion scheme during the commemoration ceremony of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace. A number of roads will be temporarily closed.
"The diversion of the flow around the State Palace is in the context of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Kombes Latif Usman, quoted on Thursday, August 17.
The road closure starts from Simpang Harmoni to the palace, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, and Jalan Veteran Raya.
Meanwhile, traffic flow on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat from the direction of the Horse Statue to the palace remains open.
"It's not closed, it's for the flag procession," said Latif.
The following is a traffic diversion scheme around the State Palace;
1. The traffic flow from the farmer monument (Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan) to Jalan Merdeka Utara is diverted to Jalan Perwira
2. Traffic flow from Jalan Hayam Wuruk to Jalan Majapahit or Jalan Merdeka Utara is diverted to Jalan Juanda or to Jalan Suryopranoto
3. Traffic Flow going to Veterans 1 Street, Veterans 2 and Veterans 3 are closed
4. Traffic flow from the direction of the US Embassy to the Horse Statue Roundabout flows.
