Defendant Of 500 Tons Of Rice Corruption In South Sulawesi Sued 9 Years In Prison

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office demanded a 9-year prison sentence for three corruption defendants for the loss of 500 tons of rice in Lampa Bulog's warehouse, Pinrang Regency which was issued without procedures to the detriment of state finances amounting to Rp5.4 billion.

"The three defendants in this case were charged with nine years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million according to the amar in the prosecutor's indictment," said Head of the Information and Law Section (Kasi Penkum) of the South Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Soertami in Makassar as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.

The three defendants were respectively former leaders of the Bulog Pinrang Branch Radityo Putra Sikado. former Bulog Pinrang Warehouse Head Muhammad Idris and CV Sabang leader Marauke Persada as Bulog partners, Irpan.

The defendants were proven to have violated Article 2 paragraph (1) Subsidiary Article 3 More Subsidiary 9 article in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999.

Defendant Irfan was charged with nine years in prison and paid a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and demanded to pay compensation of more than Rp. 2 billion, subsidiary to four years and six months in prison.

Furthermore, the defendant Muhammad Idris was sentenced to nine years in prison, and paid a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and demanded to pay compensation of Rp. 2.4 billion, more than a subsidiary of four years and six months in prison.

Meanwhile, the defendant Radityo Putra Sikado was sentenced to nine years in prison and paid a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison, and demanded to pay compensation of Rp. 558.4 million, subsidiary to four years and six months in prison.

The follow-up trial at the Corruption Court at the Makassar A Class 1 District Court will be held again on Monday, August 21, 2023, with the agenda of the defense trial of the defendant.
