JAMBI - The Jambi TPI Class I Immigration Office Enforcement Team arrested a foreign national (WNA) from China on suspicion of carrying illegal drugs. These drugs are planned to be held in the oil palm plantation area of Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency on Monday night, August 14. "It is known that the foreigner with the initials DL (50) who was previously secured in the area of one of the villages in Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency last night and handed over by local residents and police, then we detained him in the custody of the Jambi Immigration Office," said the Head of the Jambi Immigration Office Enforcement Subsidy Mangampu Siregar in Jambi, Antara, Tuesday, August 15. The Immigration Office then examined the document for the foreigner from China. Immigrationally, the documents are valid. However, when later it is proven that we have violated the laws and regulations or criminal regulations, we can deport them to their home countries. The types of drugs will be further handled by the Sungai Bahar Police. Apart from foreigners, immigration also asks for information from residents from Sumba and Demak. Both work as drivers and translators for these foreigners.

Until now, foreigners and drivers as well as those who translate the language are still being questioned by the Jambi Immigration Office. "As for the case of violating the law, it will be handled by the local police and whatever the legal decision is, the immigration authorities have the right to deport foreign nationals back to their country," he said.
