The National Police Denies The Consideration Of Criminalization Of Kamaruddin Simanjuntak In The Case Of Hoax Spread

The National Police has denied the assumption that Bareskrim has criminalized Kamaruddin Simanjuntak in the alleged case of spreading false news reported by the President Director of PT Taspen, Antonius Nicholas Stephanus Kosasih.

In this case, Kamaruddin has a suspect status. He has also been questioned by the Directorate of Cyber Crime on Monday, August 14.

"So if someone conveys criminalization matters, we convey that none of the investigators have criminalized the reported party," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, August 15.

According to him, all series of investigations and investigations to the determination of the suspect against Kamaruddin Simanjuntak in the alleged case of spreading false news were in accordance with the rules.

Thus, investigators or investigators will not criminalize Kamaruddin in this case.

"That we convey that the stages of investigation and investigation have been carried out according to procedures," said Ramadhan.

Previously, it was reported that Kamaruddin Simanjuntak considered that there were irregularities behind his determination as a suspect in the alleged case of spreading hoax news or lying.

"I was summoned as a suspect when carrying out the duties of the advocate profession, I defended or accompanied my client named Rina Laowy and her son," said Kamaruddin.

According to him, the first oddity felt was that an element that investigators considered a criminal offense occurred when he was carrying out his duties as a lawyer.

So, said Kamaruddin, the determination of the suspect committed had violated the Advocate Law.

"I ask for responsibility from Karo Bareskrim and Adi Vivid (Director of Cyber Crime) why I was made a suspect in defending clients," he said.

"Isn't Article 16 of the Advocates Law saying that carrying out its duties should not be investigated, I am here to defend my client with her child," continued Kamaruddin.

Then, the lawyer from Brigadier J's family also considered that he was not treated well and there was even a political element behind the handling of the case.

This is because the determination of the suspect against him coincided with the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) which annulled Ferdy Sambo's sentence from the death penalty to life imprisonment.
