Confession Of Palm Oil Employees In Bengkalis Put The Red And White Flag: Let The Dog Be Free

Bengkalis Riau Police have named the Deputy Head of Administration for Palm Oil Factory (PKS) PT Sawit Agung Sejahtera (SAS) Robert Herry Son (22) as a suspect for allegedly abusing the symbol of the state of the Red and White flag. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkalis Police, AKP Firman Fadhilah, said that the alleged abuse was discovered on Thursday, August 10 when PKS employee PT SAS saw a dog wrapped in a red and white flag. The witness then looked for who had put the red and white flag on the dog's neck. Finally, the witness met the perpetrator who claimed to have paired the flag. Robert Herry Son, said Firman, admitted that he had draped the flag on Wednesday, August 9 in front of the PKS PT SAS Office, Muara Basung Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. The suspect argued that putting up the Red and White flag was a decoration to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day. "He said that this country is a democracy, let alone the dog is independent," said Firman, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 13. The palm oil employee who saw the incident felt unhappy and then reported it to the Pinggir Police Office for further processing. On Friday the suspect surrendered. The next process, the suspect was examined. From the results of the case title, the suspect was finally detained. It was also said that the evidence that was secured was a small Red and White flag. In addition, one flash drive contains a recorded video on the neck of a dog with the Red and White flag attached. "The suspect violated Article 66 of the State Law Number 24 of 2009 concerning the National Flag, Language and Emblem and the National Anthem," said Firman Fadhilah. Robert Herry Son has apologized to the Indonesian people who were hurt by his actions of putting a flag on the dog's neck. The suspect admitted that he did not intend to insult and harass the Red and White flag. He did this only spontaneously and raised enthusiasm to commemorate Indonesian Independence Day.

"I apologize and realize that this act is inappropriate and willing to accept the consequences for this incident. I do not intend to harass the symbol of the state by putting the flag on the dog's neck," he said.
