Social Minister Prioritizes GRUWI And GRITA For Underprivileged Children

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini prioritized deaf and speech bracelets (GRUWI) and Grahita-poor bracelets (GRITA) for underprivileged children.

Social Minister Risma said the bracelets were only produced according to demand, and were not yet for mass production.

Because according to him, if the prices of the two tools become expensive, then there is the potential that these items become expensive and cannot help underprivileged children.

Social Minister Risma said this innovation was born from her experience of finding an accident case involving a train, where the victim was a deaf person when he was Mayor of Surabaya.

"As I said earlier, there was a train behind people, they thought they had committed suicide, they committed suicide. Even though after his family arrived, it turned out that his family said that he was deaf, he didn't hear," said Social Minister Risma.

Other innovations created include wheelchairs for cerebral palsy sufferers to adaptive sticks for people with visual disabilities born from ideas when they find events in the field. Then made when he served as Minister of Social Affairs.

Social Minister Risma said that while she attended a conference of people with disabilities in Geneva, Switzerland, many state representatives wanted to buy a blind disability adaptive stick, which may be the world's first item.

Social Minister Risma guarantees repair guarantees if tools for people with disabilities experience problems, can be returned to the Integrated Integrated Center of Suweno Cibinong, West Java or there are officers who will repair them at other centers or centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Social Minister Risma has handed over 100 GRUWIs for people with hearing and speech disabilities. At least in the next two months, 100 GRITAs will be handed over to people with graphita disabilities.
