The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Lombok Regency is on standby to deal with the impact of drought during the 2023 dry season.

Head of BPBD Central Lombok Regency H Ridwan Ma'ruf said drought had started to occur in 6 of the 12 sub-districts in Central Lombok.

"The six areas are far from springs, so they experience drought more quickly during the dry season," he said in Praya, Central Lombok, NTB, Tuesday, August 8.

The 6 areas experiencing drought in Central Lombok, namely Pujut, East Praya, West Praya, Southwest Praya, Janepria, and Jonggat sub-districts.

Ridwan said the Central Lombok Regency BPBD had prepared a clean water stock to help residents who had difficulty getting it because their residential areas were affected by drought.

"Clean water distribution to people affected by the 2023 dry season continues," said Ridwan.

"The clean water aid stock is still there. We have prepared 100 tanks, but if we don't have enough, we will submit a request to the Provincial BPBD or BNPB," he continued.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast, the dry season will last until September 2023.

Ridwan said that during the dry season the water discharge was reduced, therefore BPBD prepared clean water stocks to help residents who had difficulty getting clean water supplies.
