JAKARTA - BKKBN's Main Inspector (Irtama), Ary Dwikora Tono said stunting prevention in children is important, considering that infants and toddlers living today will be part of the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision. "Since now, the stunting rate must be lowered as low as possible, because babies and toddlers who live today, in 2045, become a productive age group that determines the success of the achievement of Golden Indonesia," he said, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 6.

Ary said that quality human resources (HR) are the key to achieving Indonesia Gold 2045.

Therefore, he continued, the preparation of these human resources must start now. "This golden year must really be able to achieve an advanced and sovereign Indonesia, Indonesia. The economy is strong, the development is evenly distributed, and the people are involved and share the results of development," he said. Therefore, said Ary, BKKBN encourages stunting prevention to be carried out starting from upstream. That is, done from an early age, even before the couple got married by checking their health three months earlier. This, he said, was aimed at getting married and then getting pregnant, the mother and baby who were carried away were in good health conditions, thus avoiding stunting. Furthermore, eating and parenting patterns must be considered, including the provision of exclusive breast milk for 6 months. "The malnutrition that occurs in stunting can be caused by the wrong diet and parenting patterns, so that child growth is hampered," said Ady.

Meanwhile, Head of BKKBN Representative for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Andi Ritamariani said that the exclusive breastfeeding carried out by the mother could play a more role in preventing stunting. "Actually, if you don't give breast milk, because breast milk doesn't need to be bought, nutrition and hygiene are guaranteed. In addition, economics. If you routinely breastfeed, reduce the possibility of getting pregnant again. Moreover, breast milk is easy to carry and prepare, it's not complicated," said Andi Ritamariani.
