PAPUA - Head of Information for the XVII/Cenderawasih Regional Military Command (Kapendam) Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman emphasized that the information that was spread regarding TNI members molesting civilians was untrue or hoaxes. "That the information circulating about TNI members molesting civilians in Pomako Village, Mimika Timur District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province is a hoax," said Herman Taryaman in a release received by ANTARA in Timika, Friday, August 4. According to Kapendam, if it is proven that members of the TNI are involved in the case of the loss of their lives, they will be processed according to applicable legal regulations. "We hope that media colleagues can be patient, if there is progress from the results of the investigation process, it will be conveyed again," he said. He explained that his party appealed to the public not to be easily provoked when they received information that was not yet clear. "We urge the public together to maintain a security and order situation in order to create a peaceful Mimika," he said. He added that in today's era of technology, all true or untrue information will be very easy for anyone to get and anywhere.
