Tomorrow MAKI Will Report KPK Leadership To Supervisory Board Because Head Of Basarnas Is A Suspect Without A Warrant

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) plans to report the KPK leadership to the Supervisory Board (Dewas)tomorrow, Wednesday, August 2. This report is the aftermath of a polemic over the sting operation (OTT) which led to naming the Head of the National SAR Agency (Kabasarnas) Air Marshal Henri Alfiandi as a suspect.

"(Reporting, ed) to Dewas tomorrow," said MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman to reporters via his written statement, Tuesday, August 1.

Boyamin said he would report all leaders. "The focus is that the determination of the TNI suspect was wrong because it was not authorized and there was no operational procedure," he said.

Previously, KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata stated that the application of the bribery article had made the Head of the National SAR Agency (Kabasarnas) Air Marshal Henri Alfiandi and Koorsmin Kabasarnas Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto still be announced as suspects on Thursday, July 25. In fact, at that time no investigation warrant (sprindik) had been issued.

"Because the principle of bribery is that there is a giver and a receiver. So we say that we will appoint five people," Alexander said at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 31.

Apart from Henri and Afri, the Corruption Eradication Committee also determined and issued guidelines for three private parties as donors. They are the President Commissioner of PT Multi Grafika Cipta Sejati Mulsunadi Gunawan, the Managing Director of PT Intertekno Grafika Sejati Marilya, the Managing Director of PT Kindah Abadi Utama, Roni Aidil.

Alexander ensured that they had strong evidence of the actions of the five suspects. However, the KPK did not issue a sprindik against Henri and Afri because it was handed over to the TNI.

"If when the perpetrators of a crime are still active in the TNI, the TNI Puspom will handle it," he said.
