JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas emphasized that the Ministry of Religion he leads does not only belong to one religion but belongs to all religions in Indonesia. This was conveyed by Minister of Religion Yaqut while attending and signing the inscription on the inauguration of the Mawar Sharon Church at Rooftop Pakuwon Mall Jalan Puncak Indah Lontar, Surabaya, Sunday, July 30. The arrival of Minister Yaqut with his wife and entourage was greeted directly by the Senior Shepherd of the Mawar Sharon Church (GMS) West Surabaya, Ps. Philip Mantofa and his wife. "“Let's be grateful that today we are all given the opportunity by God Almighty to be able to gather here to meet each other. People say they don't know each other, so hopefully after we meet each other after we get to know each other, we love each other," said Minister Yaqut as quoted by Antara. According to him, loving each other is a universal message for all religions to love each other's human beings. On that occasion, the Minister of Religion, who is familiarly called Gus Yaqut, advised that differences of belief should not be an obstacle to brothers and sisters with each other. At the end of his remarks, the Minister of Religion congratulated the inauguration of this magnificent Church and hoped that the inauguration of this church would strengthen faith and love for God.

During the signing of the inscription, two members of the Surabaya City DPRD, Jodiah Michael and William Wirakusuma, who are also members of the Mawar Sharon Church in West Surabaya, were also seen.
