Gus Yahya: NU Must Be A Solution To Community Problems

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf stated that all autonomous institutions under Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) must be a solution to problems that exist in the community.

"Don't let the institution look busy here and there asking for donations. It seems that busyness must be busy building dignified cooperation with other parties to find solutions to problems faced by the community," said Gus Yahya, calling the son of YahyaCholilStaquf as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 29.

Yahya asked all institutions under NU not to carry out programs alone but to cooperate with other parties to cooperate.

Independent, he said, does not mean that everything must be done alone.

According to him, dignified cooperation with other parties is needed so that the programs launched can be executed quickly. Apart from being dignified, he said, cooperation must be mutually beneficial.

Gus Yahya hopes that institutions will see all the problems faced by the community clearly. From these problems, solutions are found.

"So that the programs launched are not only good on paper but also have to have results or have an impact on society," he said.

Gus Yahya believes NU can carry out good programs and be a solution for the community. Because NU has complete instruments downstream.

"The condition is to identify the problems faced by the community, find real solutions, and establish cooperation to overcome them," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Economic Institution (LPNU) Tyovan Ari Widagdo said that to find a number of problems faced by the community, his institution

launched three programs.

"The three programs are the empowerment of the community economy, the empowerment of the association's economy, and the empowerment of the pesantren economy," he said.

Tyovan explained that the economic empowerment of the LPNU community would seek access to work to empower Nahdliyin residents' MSMEs.

Then the empowerment of the association's economy, his party will mobilize business units by utilizing the potential that exists in their respective regions. He believes that each region has different business potentials.

As for the economic empowerment of pesantren, he said, pesantren must be able to become an independent institution through their own copyright and business. Islamic boarding schools also have different business potentials.
