PPIH's Task Period Is Too Long, Minister Of Religion Yaqut Is Worried About Weakness And Productive Contras

TANGERANG - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) will conduct an evaluation regarding the duration of the assignment of Hajj officers in Saudi Arabia. Because according to Yaqut, the duration of the assignment given to the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) officers is too long.

"The officers' tenure is too long, 62 to 78 days. We saw too long and saturated," said Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas to reporters at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Thursday, July 27.

"We are worried that it will be counter-productive. We will evaluate this condition, create a new scheme for officers, so that the officers' tenure is not long," he added.

Nevertheless, Yaqut appreciated the officers who worked optimally in this year's worship. Because the average pilgrims in 2023 are the elderly (elderly).

He emphasized that if someone assessed the poor officers' performance, then he would defend him.

"The highest appreciation to the officers, so, if someone assesses the performance of the officers is bad, I will deal with it, because I am a witness, all officers work hard and exceed expectations," he said.

For information, 282 PPIHs have arrived in the country via Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, which will be followed by 153 other PPIHs.
