JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has added lighting in the Cawang City Forest after being used as a place for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activities. "The addition of lighting has been done, Bina Marga friends have (increased) four points at the location," said Head of the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service (Distamhut) Bayu Meghantara at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, July 27. In addition, Bayu also mentioned that his party had tidied up the damaged part of the fence in the Cawang City Forest. The DKI Jakarta Distamhut also coordinates with the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot). "We have communicated with regional friends, including the Satpol PP. Technically, we have tidyed up the fence, we have welded it again," said Bayu. The DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), said Bayu, was also deployed to patrol the area as an effort to prevent similar actions. "Friends in the area have (preserving), Satpol PP and regional officials, there is a sub-district head, there is an village head," said Bayu. The East Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-dept. increased security for City Forests in Cawang by repairing the fence so that it would not be used as a place for immoral acts by the LGBT group. Head of the East Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-dept. (Sudin Tamhut) Djauhar Arifin when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, said that his party installed a fence using iron iron on a porous fence. "This is to anticipate the entry of irresponsible people who abuse the existence of City Forests for negative things," said Djauhar.

According to him, the closure of the porous fence has been carried out since Wednesday (26/7) so that people do not easily enter the City Forest, Cawang.
