TNI Prepares Air Force Aircraft To Help Modify Weather To Anticipate Drought

TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono said a number of aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force (AU) had been prepared to support the operation of Weather Modification Technology (TMC) in order to anticipate drought when entering the long dry season in 2023.

"Yesterday it was discussed in the meeting (limited meeting), we will carry out assistance for TMC or weather modifications. From the Indonesian Air Force we have prepared, which will implement the BNPB later," said Yudo Margonousai attending the Tactical Flour Game (TFG) at the Joint Training (Latgab) of the TNI in 2023, at the Sesko TNI Jl RAA Marta Negara, Bandung City, West Java, reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.

According to the TNI Commander, each region will have to do an analysis first in order to obtain accurate data related to conditions in their respective areas. Later, he said, the BMKG will check which areas will be implemented by TMC.

"And we have emphasized the Pangdam again, in order to anticipate it to report earlier. If there is an incident, we can anticipate it together," he said.

Yudo Margono said that regarding the drought that occurred in Ilaga District in Papua, assistance distribution has now been carried out for the people there.

"Drought in Papua, yes, we have supported those who transported aid from the Ministry of Social Affairs this morning at 4 o'clock," he said.

Ilaga District, Papua, which was hit by cold weather, made many plants dry.

In the distribution process, his party deployed helicopters because access roads were difficult.

"This morning we sent 12 tons (food assistance) to Timika and later it will be executed by planes. We will go to districts and districts in Papua that are cold," said Yudo Margono.
