Moeldoko: Orangutan Protection And Conservation Needs Collaboration

KETAPANG - The Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, warned all parties to synergize and collaborate in maintaining the survival of orangutans.

"Don't hinder each other," he said. Moeldoko said this while reviewing the rehabilitation and conservation center for the Indonesian Rehabilitation Natural Initiation Foundation (YIARI), in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, Friday, July 21.

Moeldoko emphasized that collaboration between the government and non-governmental institutions and the general public is urgently needed in the protection and conservation of orangutans. If this is not done, the iconic species will not be saved.

The future of orangutans in Indonesia is strongly determined by collaborative fast actions. Don't prioritize each other's sectoral egos," he said.

He considered that the existence of YIARI as a non-governmental organization that focuses on saving, protecting, and conservation of orangutans deserves support from the government, both central and regional.

YIARI has complete capabilities and facilities, the veterinarian is also always on standby. Every orangutan is monitored in detail. We should support this movement," he concluded.

For information, the working visit of the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko at the YIARi orangutan rehabilitation and conservation center, in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, to ensure orangutan conservation goes well.
