TIP Syndicate Mode Selling Human Organs Looking For 'Mangsa': Lure Hundreds Of Millions

Polda Metro Jaya said that syndicates of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) selling human organs recruited their victims through social media. In fact, they promised hundreds of millions of money.

"The modus operandi of recruiting through social media Facebook, then there are two accounts and two community groups, namely Indonesian Kidney Donors and Overseas Kidney Donors," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi to reporters, Thursday, July 20.

Not only social media, this syndicate can also recruit victims through mouth-to-mouth patterns. The recruiters who were previously victims spread the information to those around them.

Then, they also promise money to potential victims. The nominal reaches hundreds of millions.

"Promising Rp135 million for each donor when they finish carrying out the kidney transplant in Cambodia there. So after the transplant, a few days later it was immediately transferred to a personal account," he said.

On the other hand, in dispatching victims, the perpetrators used illegal methods. They falsified data from several companies.

"At the time of departure abroad, it turned out that they also falsified recommendations from several companies, as if they were family gathering abroad. There were two companies that were falsified by this group, as if they were family gathering, the stamp was split," said Hengki.

Previously, it was reported that Polda Metro Jaya revealed a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) of the Cambodian network that sold human organs. From the disclosure, 12 people were named suspects, one of whom was a member of the National Police.

"Until today, the team has detained 12 suspects," said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto.

For the other two suspects, Karyoto is called an individual. One of them is a member of Koprs Bhayangkara.

"Two suspects outside the syndicate, namely from unscrupulous persons. Police agencies exist," said Karyoto.
