Kemendikbud Gives Recommendations To Overcome Zoning PPDB Problems

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture provides several recommendations and solutions to overcome various problems in the implementation of the zoning system New Student Admissions (PPDB) selection.

The Director General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Iwan Syahril, stated that these recommendations and solutions have been implemented by several regions and have succeeded in overcoming existing problems.

"We are looking at some of the good practices that have been carried out by various other regions. Here are some recommendations for solutions that we can do," he said in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission X of the DPR as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

Some of the findings in the implementation of the PPDB selection for zoning routes for the 2023/2024 school year include forgery of Family Cards (KK), 155 missing student names, one student's name being used many times, and the intervention of DPRD officials.

In order to overcome this problem, the local government (Pemda) can coordinate with the Dukcapil Service and the Regional Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to analyze prospective new students who will graduate both in terms of domicile and availability of capacity as well as verification and validation of the validity of the KK.

"The local government can also involve the Regional Inspectorate to take action against violations related to the KK," said Iwan.

In addition, local governments can make commitments with regional deliberation leaders, school principals, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community leaders so that the implementation of PPDB can be carried out without pressure and free from KKN or extortion through the signing of a joint integrity pact.

Iwan continued, in determining the zoning, the local government must take into account the distribution of schools, the distribution of domicile for prospective students, including the available capacity.

Local governments can also provide assistance such as financing private schools to students from underprivileged economic families so that they still have the opportunity to go to school.

Iwan said the various recommendations had been made by various local governments such as Donggala Regency, namely schools synchronizing school student data from Dapodik with data from the Dukcapil Office.

Pasuruan Regency also stipulates a detailed zoning to ensure that all regions are included in the implementation of the Riau and Bogor Provinces that build new school units (USB) to increase school capacity data.
