The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police stated that several criminal elements were allegedly carried out by the leadership of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang. Although, the alleged blasphemy is the most highlighted by the public.
"This is what we are investigating, Mr. Kabareskrim, then the interim investigators also saw several criminal elements," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani to reporters, Monday, July 3.
However, it has not been conveyed in detail the series of criminal elements that are strongly suspected of being violated by Panji Gumilang.
Djuhandani only said investigators were still gathering clues to prove a criminal offense. Moreover, the principle of presumption of innocence is put forward in handling the case.
"Meanwhile, if we look at the presumption of innocence, investigators are still professionally fulfilling the existing evidence that will later be used for investigations and so on," he said.
On the other hand, it was also emphasized that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police would handle a case involving Panji Gumilang in a professional manner. Investigations will be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
"Investigators will certainly conduct professional investigations and we are sure that investigators are on the track," said Djuhandani.
