Novel Baswedan Reveals Ex-KPK Investigators Made Suspicious Transactions Of Up To Hundreds Of Billions

JAKARTA - Former Corruption Eradication Commission investigator Novel Baswedan revealed suspicious transactions carried out by former anti-corruption commission employees. The value is no joke reaching hundreds of billions of rupiah.

"The transaction value is IDR 300 billion, and I suspect more, some say almost IDR 1 trillion," said Novel in a YouTube broadcast quoted on Monday, July 3.

The unnamed employee worked during the era of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, said Novel. The former employee previously worked as an investigator but has been returned to the National Police.

Furthermore, Novel suspected that this employee was not working alone. "That's not logical, because the risk for him, if I wanted to be evil, I would think the risk of getting caught was that big, it's over, it's over," he said.

However, this allegation cannot be proven because the employee has returned to his original agency. Novel said, the Supervisory Board had checked but the results were to no avail.

"Then resign and pass," he stressed.

Likewise, former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leader Bambang Widjojanto or BW also believes that there is a network connected to this former employee. However, no follow-up could be carried out because he had already returned to the Bhayangkara Corps.

"By not carrying out a further inspection process, we are actually protecting the network or allowing the network to work. So, the KPK is now unsafe," said BW in the same broadcast.

Previously, Novel also spoke about allegations of immorality at the KPK detention center by an employee. This incident then led the KPK Supervisory Board to discover illegal levies (extortion) of up to billions of rupiah.

Regarding the alleged immorality, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council has handed down a moderate penalty. However, the employee is currently still working at the anti-corruption commission and is tasked with building security.
