The Construction Of The Kurambik Agam Bridge Is Targeted To Be Completed In September

PADANG - The re-development of the Kurambik bridge located in Nagari Koto Gadang Maninjau, Agam Regency, West Sumatra which was damaged by the flood is targeted for completion in September 2023.

"The bridge is the main access for the community, so we are trying to finish it as soon as possible. It is targeted that this September it can be used," said West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 1.

He said the bridge was built using the West Sumatra APBD worth IDR 1.8 billion and as of June, the construction progress has reached 35 percent.

So that the development process can run smoothly and be completed according to the plan, Governor Mahyeldi asked for support from all parties, both from government and community elements.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Agam Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUTR), OfRISon, admitted that his party would oversee the implementation of development as well as possible.

"We will monitor this project well, because it will be used by the community for a long period of time, the quality of the work is important for us," he said.

The Kurambik Bridge is a liaison between Agam Regency and Bukittinggi City which was damaged by flash floods in December 2021.

Before being repaired, the relevant agencies built an emergency bridge that can be passed by two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. However, the bridge did not last long due to the high intensity of vehicles crossing the route.
