South Sumatra Becomes The Region With The Decreased Prevalence Of National Highest Stunting

PALEMBANG - South Sumatra Province is an area that experienced a decline in the prevalence rate of the highest national stunting cases based on reports from the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) as of June 2023. Head of the South Sumatra BKKBN Medihiryanto said, currently the prevalence rate for stunting in the local area is 18.6 percent or a decrease of 6.2 percent compared to 2022 of 24.8 percent. The prevalence figure was obtained based on the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) which was held in every 17 districts/cities in South Sumatra. The 6.2 percent decline was very drastic, even the central BKKBN noted that the figure was the highest nationally for this year,” he said when confirmed in Palembang, Antara, Wednesday, June 21. This achievement cannot be separated from the maximum efforts carried out by the provincial, district and city governments together with other relevant agencies including the private sector. The 30th National Price activity will be held on July 6, 2023 in Banyuasin Regency. Indonesian President Joko Widodo and related ministries are scheduled to attend the event.

The South Sumatra BKKBN confirmed that there were at least 10,000 participants from all over Indonesia at the 30th National Price based on the results of the coordination meeting of the organizing committee in Jakarta earlier last week.
