SAR Team Evacuates 9 Teachers Victims Of Motor Boat Accidents In Nabire

NABIRE - A joint SAR team from Nabire, Papua Mountains, managed to evacuate victims of a motorboat accident in the waters of Pepaya Island and Naburi Island.

The motorboat was boarded by nine teachers or teachers in an accident due to bad weather so that the boat sank.

Kasat Polairud Nabire Police AKP Wilston Rihard Latuasan said the accident experienced by the teachers was about to take the students off after carrying out the exam.

"However, due to bad weather, the boat, which was boarded by nine teachers, sank," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 16.

According to Wilston, the nine teachers were evacuated and taken to the beach.

"After we evacuated safely, a health check was carried out and the victims returned to their respective homes by land," he said.

He explained that until now the weather conditions could be said to be bad, for that his party asked fishermen and people who wanted to cross through the sea to postpone or be more careful.

"Especially for fishermen by not sailing first in order to avoid unwanted things from happening," he said.
