BANGKALAN - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has built a narcotics laboratory in Bangkalan Regency, East Java, and the construction of this building is an effort to accelerate the handling of drug abuse.
According to the Head of the General Bureau of the Main Secretary of BNN, Moh Indra Gautama, the construction of the narcotics laboratory building in Bangkalan is the fourth in Indonesia.
"Previously, we have also built drug laboratories in Medan, Makassar and Samarinda. In Bangkalan, this is the fourth narcotics test laboratory," he said on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony for the building, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 14.
This narcotics laboratory is located in Baengas Village, Labang District, Bangkalan, by utilizing the land confiscated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) covering an area of 11,986 square meters.
According to Indra, the purpose of this laboratory development is to create narcotics laboratory services that reach regions so as to increase the reach of Indonesia's effective and efficient laboratory services.
Through this laboratory, he hopes to support the acceleration of handling narcotics problems through laboratories.
Through this narcotics lab, his party can test narcotics tests as a result of confiscation of evidence of narcotics crimes.
"We can also carry out profiling or to find out where the narcotics materials came from. In addition, we can group the existing networks in Indonesia, both regionally and internationally," he said.
According to Indra, the existence of the laboratory will be very supportive in efforts to prevent, eradicate, abuse, and illicit narcotics trafficking (P4GN).
