Jokowi Meets Puan Maharani At The Palace To Discuss National Politics

JAKARTA - President Jokowi met the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, at the Palace. Both are said to be discussing the national political situation.

"It is true that the President met with the Chairman of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Puan," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

Bey said during the meeting, the President and the Speaker of the DPR discussed various issues, including national politics, the formulation of several laws, and also about the peak of Bung Karno's Month event in June 2023.

According to Bey, President Jokowi and Puan Maharani regularly meet. The meeting between the two was held in Puan's capacity as Chair of the DPR to discuss the latest issues.

"And the President also regularly accepts Mrs. Puan in her capacity as Chair of the DPR to discuss various actual matters," he said.

Previously, Puan Maharani uploaded information and photos about her meeting with President Jokowi through uploads on her official Twitter account @puanmaharani_ri.

"Take a photo in front of the chest statue of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno on the sidelines of a meeting with President Joko Widodo @jokowi today at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta," Puan wrote.

Puan said the meeting with President Jokowi discussed various issues, including efforts to increase the synergy of legislative and executive institutions and preparations for the peak of the Bung Karno Month event.

"The latest situation in national politics is part of the discussion at the meeting," said Puan.
